This Week’s Epiphany

It’s short and sweet, not to waste much of your time. I just had a thought, as one does while attempting to sleep, about how I was going to decide which direction I wanted my life to go in. Then a question came to mind that I think will point me in the right direction, and I thought I’d share it with — you — who ever you are:

What do you want to spend your life caring about?

For some this might be a redundant question because some people know their answer from early on in life, decide on it, and spend their whole lives pursuing that dream. For me, I cared about a lot of things growing up, then I learned things about the world and people the hard way. That’s when my perspective changed, I think, to that which told me that if I didn’t care, no one could hurt me…and in return, I could do whatever I wanted, because to me, no one was hurt…because I didn’t care. Now that I’ve had a break from my old life for a bit (long story), I can now step back and decide what I really want to care and be proactive about before stepping back into reality.

Thank you, late night epiphanies–sometimes we’re pals, but for now you’ve gotta let me sleep enough to hit the treadmill before work.

Lights out, night world. ❤
